No Sweat Fitness Mat And The Diseases You Can Catch Without It

By Melissa Ellis

Exercising brings sweat and this is a good thing because one is sure of losing some toxins out of the body. Nevertheless, this also calls for serious concern especially when one has to exercise outside the home. This is because of the chances of contacting some infections from other people when they sweat. For this reason, there is now no sweat fitness mat to help cut the spread of flu, MRSA and impetigo.

MRSA is the abbreviation for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. It is a bacterial infection that affects the respiratory organs including the lungs. It can also cause itching on the skin and this can result in the skin appearing rough and red on most occasions. What makes this a more serious concern is that the bacteria is very resistant to some antibiotics. This makes preventing it a better option and hence, the need to visit gyms with no sweat mats.

Another name for Impetigo is Staphylococcus Aureus. Its mode of spread is similar to that of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus. The major difference between this and MRSA however, is that it affects children the most. As a result, parents will be doing the right thing when they teach their kids what to do when they visit the gym.

Flu is another infection one can catch after visiting the gym. Although flu is caused by virus and sweat contains no virus, the spread is still possible because sweat can carry some viruses. When someone who was not initially affected use the same mat with the one who had flu, the chances of catching the flu is high.

Like flu, Hepatitis B Virus is not contained in sweat. However, it can be carried along with it and will then cause serious health problems to the victim. Symptoms may begin with nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain which resemble symptoms of other infections but the presence of dark urine should make the sufferer more concerned and go for a check. Fever is also associated with it.

Making sure you use no sweat mat is one of the ways to prevent these sicknesses. This is as important as covering yourself well at the gym. No matter how much using a gym that has the mat costs, it is worth the investment as prevention is better than cure. Similarly, fitness centers should not bother about the cost of this item but should rather have them placed in all places. Many people are now more aware of health issues and will not avoid your center even if your fees are higher than some others.

What is more, the mats are easy to maintain. You can clean it with warm water, dish soap or laundry detergent. You wouldn't need someone else to do it for you as the procedure is entirely easy.

Make sure you don't use the mat when wet. If you own a fitness center, you would have to buy more than one for an area so that while the other is still wet, you already have one that is dry. This way, you will have more people trooping in for training as you help to create a healthier society.
